Transportation Manager
 My name is Robin Snyder and I am the Transportation Manager with FACT.
A little bit about me:
I was born during the blizzard of ’78 in Canton, Ohio, to Reverend L. Lee and Mary Denise Chapman Maley. My parents have always said I was born during a blizzard and have been one ever since. I have one older sister, Laura, who is an R.N. I had a great childhood. We traveled all over and also lived all over with my dad pastoring different churches from Ohio to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. One year, I was enrolled in three different school systems in three different states. It never phased me, I’ve always been a people person and made friends easily. We finally settled in Dunbar, PA, when I was 12 years old and that is where I lived until adulthood.
I graduated from Connellsville Area High School in 1996 and in 1997 enrolled at Laurel Business Institute. I graduated in the fall of 1998 with an Associates of Arts Degree in Business Administration. From there, I became a mother to a beautiful baby girl, Rebecca, in July of 1999. I worked in ER Registration and also as a Caseworker for Adelphoi Village. Soon the steady night shifts became my enemy and I was looking for steady day-light work, and it also enabled me to spend more time with my daughter.
I began my career with the county at the Fayette County Adult Probation Office as a Department Clerk on September 14, 2014. I worked there until January 20, 2017. On January 23, 2017, I began my career at Fayette Area Coordinated Transportation as a Transportation Information Specialist. Shortly, after that, I married my husband, Mark Snyder. He believed in me and supported me in wanting to advance my career at FACT. Under the mentorship of Ray McDonald, Transportation Manager, and the late Lori Groover-Smith, former Director, I learned the transportation business. When Ray retired in January 2023, I applied for and was promoted to Transportation Manager effective January 23, 2023.
As Transportation Manager, I oversee our scheduling department and supervise a staff of 6 employees. In short, my department addresses public inquiries concerning their eligibility for transportation services and we plan and coordinate rider transportation requests with our busing schedule. I love working with my coworkers while serving our clients. FACT is my passion.
Aside from my career, I love spending time with my grandson, Wyatt, my husband, and Sunday dinners at my parents after church with the entire family. Family is everything to me. In my spare time, along with my husband, we love to camp, take our boat out and live for our yearly trips to the beach. My motto is God first, Family second, Me third.
